The 23-mile stretch of state highway 135 offers excellent views of surrounding mountains, glacial flood geology, and wildlife including bighorn sheep, elk, and bald eagles.

Iron Mountain trailhead is located in this campground. There is a separate parking area for the trailhead in vicinity of the water, restrooms, and fee area. 0.4 mile up the trail is a bench and an overlook with a good view of the valley. 1.4 miles along the trail is an overlook for Cascade Falls. There is also an interpretive sign at the trailhead.

From St. Regis, travel 18 miles east on state highway 135. Campground is travel the south side of the highway.
