Einer von mehreren kleinen Campgrounds im Medicine Bow National Forest. Sehr schön gelegen auf 3225m an einem ruhigen See umrahmt von Bergen.
Der kleine Campground hat 19 Sites und bietet für jeden genug Privatsphäre. Keine Anschlüsse, nur einfache Toiletten und Wasser aus Handpumpen. Keine Dumpmöglichkeiten.
The campground is set just a short walk from the lake, and nearly all of the 19 sites have a view of the lake. Like many National Forest campgrounds, this one is somewhat rustic, with vault toilets, rough dirt roads (including the 2-mile access road from the highway), and sites of all sizes that are varying degrees of level. Some of the sites are big enough for a 30- to 35-foot RV. There are no hook ups, and the only water is from hand pumps. All sites are first-come, first-served for 2015, and it does fill up on the weekends during its very short season (the campground is above 10,500 feet in elevation).

Am 09. September verbrachten wir hier eine Nacht auf Site 3.
Während es tagsüber noch relativ mild war, herrschte am Morgen Frost bei -3°C.
Flankiert von schneebedeckten Hügeln direkt an einem kristallklaren blauen See. Eine Traumkulisse, nur noch zu toppen mit ein paar Grad mehr.

HI zusammen,
von diesem Campground startet ein schöner Trail zu mehreren Gletscherseen des Medicine Bow National Forest: der Lost Lake Trail (auch Glacier Lakes Trail) bis zum Sugarloaf Campground.
Länge: Hin- und-Zurück 8,2 Meilen, aber mitt Shuttle-Möglichkeit auch in einer Richtung zu laufen.
