Die El Rancho de las Golondrinas (Ranch der Schwalben) ist ein sehr sehenswertes lebendiges Freilichtmuseum.

From Santa Fe:
Via I-25:
Take I-25 south and exit on 276. Watch for and follow the brown “Las Golondrinas” highway sign indicating a left hand turn at the first traffic light. Go one half mile to Los Pinos Road and turn right. Travel 3.2 miles on Los Pinos Road.
Via State Road 599:
Go south on State Road 599. Watch for the brown “Las Golondrinas” highway sign and last traffic light about 200 yeards before Interstate 25. This is the West Frontage Road where you will turn right. Go one half mile, and turn right onto Los Pinos Road. Travel 3.2 miles on Los Pinos Road.
From Albuquerque:
Take I-25 north and exit on 276. Turn left and head north on state road 599. Get into the left lane right away and take a left at the first traffic light onto the West Frontage Road. Go one half mile and turn right onto Los Pinos Road. Travel 3.2 miles on Los Pinos Road.
Die El Rancho de las Golondrinas ist ein sehr empfehlenswertes lebendiges Freilichtmuseum.In vielen Gebäuden befinden sich passend gekleidete Volunteers die gerne alles Wissenswerte an die Besucher weitergeben.
Die verschiedenen Gebäude(Kirche,Schmiede,Schule,diverse Wohnhäuser u.v.m.) sind auf einem 200 Acres großen Gelände verteilt,deshalb sollte man für einen Besuch mindestens 2h einplanen.
Von hier aus sind wir nachmittags weiter zu den Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks gefahren,nach einer wunderschönen Wanderung ging es dann wieder zurück zum Black Canyon Campground.
